the story of Winchester Metals
Winchester Metals, Inc. is a brand new name for a very old business. Louis Zuckerman started a scrap business in 1917, which several of his children became a part of. In 1975, Charles Zuckerman decided new metals and metals processing was the way to go and split his business to form Charles Zuckerman & Son, Inc. He served as president and his son Steve was vice-president until Charles retired in 1989. Steve held the top spot at the company until he retired at the end of 2001.
Donald Phelps now serves as president and his brother Mark is vice-president. The company is a metals service center that warehouses, processes, sells, and distributes steel products to industrial, commercial, contracting, and residential customers.
Winchester Metals has been dealing in the metals business for many years and prides itself in keeping up with demand for product as well as staying current with the latest processing technology. Our large and diverse, computerized inventory allows us to move orders to our customers promptly and efficiently while maintaining the highest level of customer service.
